Dans The conjuring, James Wan rendait hommage à l’incroyable et véridique histoire de Lorraine et Ed Warren, le légendaire couple de « chasseurs de fantômes » célèbres pour les nombreuses affaires surnaturelles sur lesquelles ils ont enquêté de la fin des années 60 aux années 80. Après avoir évoqué les terribles phénomènes de poltergeist et de possession survenus à Harrisville, le réalisateur d’Insidious 1 et 2 nous invite à suivre les Warren dans la banlieue de Londres en 1977, au moment des événements très médiatisés d’Enfield. Conseillé par Lorraine Warren elle-même, ce deuxième opus lève le voile sur un aspect méconnu de l’Histoire vue sous l’angle du paranormal.
